was this dog rescued? |
yes, I went to the local pound to get a chihuahua puppy but when I got there, she had already been adopted. so, I asked if there were any dogs who were close to being put down and the officer brought me to Honey's cage. she was standing on her back legs "clapping" her hands together and smiling. the guard told me, with tears in her eyes, that if the dog wasn't adopted today, she would have to put her down because she had been there for 6 months but no one had the heart to put her down because she was so sweet. i looked at the dog who had hair growing everywhere because she hadn't been trimmed and immediately fell in love. we've been together ever since and she is the best dog because she is sweet and cuddly! i can't believe that someone would allow this sweet dog to go to the pound, but it was the best day of my life the day I adopted her. she was a little hard to train because she was over 2 and not housebroken, but we got through it with patience and love and now, I can’t imagine my life without her! i named her Honey on the way to the vet to have her looked at because that was the only name she would respond to, so she actually chose her name! i tell everyone I know to get their dogs from the pound so we can continue to save those who have been abandoned! |
